PITTSBURGH -- At some point, the Pittsburgh Steelers needed a spark, and they got that on Saturday during the week leading up to the team’s game against the Indianapolis Colts. According to quarterback Aaron Rodgers, Ramsey got up in front of the team at the hotel before their game against the Colts, and told the defense to play with an edge they had been lacking previously. Rodgers said that ‘changed’ something with the unit, and obviously, the group came out with a successful plan against the Colts. “I noticed that something kind of changed last night when Jalen [Ramsey] spoke... Jalen went on and on. Had the attention in the room. He said good stuff...It was meaningful to me on the offensive side. I felt like we had a different energy in the locker room today. All week, I don’t pay super tight attention to that side of the ball in practice. In the locker room pregame, there was a different energy,” Rodgers said. As for what was said, Rodgers noted that Ramsey reamed into the group for not playing with some physicality and at times, making some business decisions. This time around, they made sure that was not the case and brought an aggressiveness with them. “The only peek into the conversation last night was that he wanted us to play wi th the edge on defense. Didn’t feel like we were doing that enough. And they played with an edge today for sure. Really thankful th at Jalen is here and that he felt comfortable speaking up and then the guys responded,” Rodgers said. Ramsey moved to free safety for the entire game after the rash of injuries and illness that went through the safety room. That forced new safety Kyle Dugger into the starting role, where he played all but one snap on the day. Yet, it was Ramsey’s opening remarks that helped spur some energy for the Steelers moving forward.
