The 34-year-old star, who is best known for her song Girls Like Girls, revealed that she never pictured herself getting married when she was young due to the laws in the United States. “I grew up not being able to get married,” Hayley said on the November 5 episode of the Zach Sang Show. “So I’m not dreaming about a wedding; I’m not dreaming about being proposed to, because, legally, I couldn’t get married until 2015,” she added, highlighting that same-sex marriage was not legal in the country until 2015. She also explained that growing up, she didn’t have “space” to fantasise about marrying another woman.
