Haq, starring Emraan Hashmi and Yami Gautam, is set to release in theatres this Friday. Backed by Junglee Pictures, the film is already earning praise for its powerful depiction of a landmark case. Ahead of the release, we spoke to trade experts about the early trends, and things are looking promising for the movie. Film critic and trade guru Taran Adarsh, who gave the film a solid 4/5 stars on X, exclusively told Zoom, "I am very clear that it's a word of mouth. It's a very powerful film that can grow with the word of mouth and the business will multiply on Saturday and Sunday. It is sure to spark conversations, ignite debates, and it's definitely one of the best films of 2025, no doubt about it. Every person, irrespective of gender, should watch it. I think it's a great and well-made film. It's not propaganda, not an agenda-driven film. It's a very important film that has been told excellently." Trade analyst Girish Johar mentioned that Haq is gaining solid momentum in urban markets and has been strategically released in multiplexes across major metro cities. He added, "Having said that, I am quite confident that the reviews and word of mouth of the film will be very strong." Johar further said, "It has a strong message, based on the incident that happened in the past, but with powerful performances by Emraan and Yami, I am sure the film will have a good start. I believe the film should open on 2-3 crore domestically. But based on word of mouth and box office, I am sure it will have a good weekend to go ahead with." It's a social drama about the case that can really get into the nation's imagination back in the day and continues to be relevant in this day and age very well," said industry expert Akkshay Rathie. He predicted, "It will have a 2-2.5 crore opening in a reasonable scenario. But from then, purely given the word of mouth of the film, which we are really hoping it will grow, it can really grow from strength to strength and have a great run at the box office for weeks." Directed by Suparn S Varma, Haq is releasing on November 7.
