Actor Chris Witaske — who plays Pete on the Emmy-winning FX show "The Bear," that's set and filmed in Chicago — will return to his suburban hometown this winter as the Grand Marshal of the St. Charles Electric Christmas Parade. The St. Charles Electric Christmas Parade takes place at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 29. The parade steps off at 6th Street and Main Street. Traveling down Main Street, the parade comes to an end at 4th Avenue. In addition to Witaske as Grand Marshal, parade watchers will see bands, floats and even Santa Claus. St. Charles Business Alliance announced Witaske as the parade's Grand Marshal in a post on social media Wednesday. Witaske is a St. Charles native who graduated from St. Charles East High School in 2001, according to the post. After earning a degree in theater arts from the University of Iowa, Witaske moved to Chicago to work at comedy venues, including the famous Second City Theater. “I’m incredibly proud to be from St. Charles – it’s such a wonderful community that has given me so much support throughout the years,” said Witaske. “Although I now live in Los Angeles, St. Charles will always be home to me, and I’m truly honored to be part of this holiday tradition.”
