This figure, described as "historic" by the authorities, reflects the strengthening of the Dominican government's migration strategy, which has resulted in intensified interception operations throughout the country, with the support of citizen security forces. The DGM explained that its migration policy is based on deterring irregular migration flows, strengthening border controls, and implementing orderly return mechanisms.
