Goldberg's legacy extends beyond 173-0 undefeated streak, claims WWE legend after recent controversy (Exclusive)

Former WWE head writer Vince Russo spoke about Bill Goldberg's career. The WCW legend has been in the news over his comments about the WWE. During a recent interview, the wrestling legend shed light on some of his issues with the WWE. He mentioned that there were possibly some tensions with Triple H. The Hall of Famer detailed that WWE intentionally booked Asuka to break his 173-0 undefeated streak. He felt this was done to bury his legacy in the wrestling business.During a recent episode of Writing with Russo, the veteran writer noted that Goldberg's appeal and box-office draw went beyond his streak. He pointed out that the streak was an important aspect of his presentation, but not a limitation. Russo detailed that the legend had a great look, a unique entrance, and a lot of intensity when he stepped into the ring, and naturally made a lot of money in the business."Streak or no streak, Bill Goldberg was a draw. He was a star. He was unique. I mean, the streak added to it. But I still believe he would have definitely been a top guy without the streak. When I look at Bill Goldberg, I don't think of the streak. I think of an intimidating wrestler that had a great entrance, had a lot of intensity. He was definitely a top guy and made a lot of money just like the other top guys. That's how I look at it," Russo said. Goldberg also has some personal complaints with the way WWE handled his farewell match. He felt that the production team could have managed time much better and not cut off his farewell speech at Saturday Night's Main Event. The legend mentioned that the company would never do something like that with its homegrown stars like The Undertaker or John Cena. While using quotes from this article, please embed the video and credit Sportskeeda for the transcript.
