The New York Giants are in dire need of wide receiver help. Malik Nabers is sidelined for the remainder of the season, Darius Slayton missed the last couple of weeks with a hamstring injury (although he is slated to return for Week 8), and the Giants’ depth at the position is abominable. Jaxson Dart has had Wan’Dale Robinson and not a whole lot else to target when it comes to his receivers, which is why many are expecting New York to swing a big move for a pass-catcher before the NFL trade deadline. ESPN’s Jordan Raanan has provided an update on New York’s wide receiver search, and while he notes that the Giants have expressed interest in Miami Dolphins star Jaylen Waddle, it doesn’t look like they will be landing that caliber of receiver between now and Nov. 4. There is interest there, according to sources. The biggest problem is that the Dolphins aren’t motivated to move him at the moment,” Raanan wrote. “New Orleans’ Chris Olave and Las Vegas’ Jakobi Meyers are some other names that have been mentioned. Still, more likely, the Giants will add a lower-end veteran and hold on to that future draft capital even though star wide receiver Malik Nabers is out for the season with a torn left ACL.” This should not come as too much of a surprise. It’s tough to complete blockbuster trades midseason, and it’s important to remember that New York does not have a third-round draft pick in 2026. The Giants moved the selection in the deal that landed them the pick they used to select Jaxson Dart last April. That will absolutely have a significant effect on trade discussions. Meyers could be a realistic target given that he is in the final year of his deal and seems to want out of Las Vegas, but would the Giants really risk surrendering draft capital for a 29-year-old who could walk in March? Dart has certainly been playing well, but he would strongly benefit from another sure-handed weapon in the aerial attack, even if it’s just an ancillary option.
