The Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany in Accra has issued a formal consular confirmation verifying the legal status of a marriage following the death of Daddy Lumba. The statement confirms the long-standing validity of the union between Charles Kwadwo Fosuh (Daddy Lumba) and Akosua Fosuh (née Akosua Serwah). The official document, titled “Consular confirmation regarding the German marriage certificate,” was issued on 27 October 2025. It serves to confirm that “according to German civil law there exists a valid marriage” between Mr Fosuh and Mrs Fosuh. The marriage between the two individuals was celebrated on 23 December 2004, in Bornheim, Germany, a testament to a union that lasted nearly 21 years. The marriage is formally registered in the German marriage registry office under the number E 142/2004. Termination Confirmed by Death The most significant detail of the confirmation addresses the status of the marriage’s termination. The Embassy explicitly states that the marriage was not dissolved by divorce. Instead, it “ended with the decease of the husband on 26.07.2025.” This official confirmation clarifies the legal standing of Mrs. Akosua Fosuh (née Serwah) as a surviving spouse, which is critical for estate matters, pension claims, and other legal processes in both Germany and Ghana. The document was signed by Susan Lüdtke, Second Secretary / Consul and Head of the Legal and Consular Section, and noted that a copy of the marriage certificate was attached for perusal.
