A few months ago, we reviewed GameSir's top-of-the-line G7 Pro controller, which we found to be one of the best mid-range Xbox controllers, offering excellent build quality, aesthetics, functionality, and performance. The same month, WUCHANG: Fallen Feathers was released, and GameSir recently came up with a game-inspired design for the G7 Pro, which we have with us today. Since we have already reviewed that controller, we won't be doing the same thing in this post, but will instead take a look at the aesthetics and also include some numbers, which we didn't previously. G7 Pro WUCHANG: Fallen Feathers edition doesn't bring any changes in the hardware or functionality; it is rather a remake of the original design for WUCHANG lovers. Box Contents While the box is the same size as the original edition, it's game-inspired as well. The content includes the same stuff as the regular G7 Pro, but now you also get a golden WUCHANG-inspired keychain. I liked how GameSir has paid attention to everything and modified the appearance of every small accessory. This includes the cable, 2.4GHz USB, D-Pads, and the charging station. G7 Pro WUCHANG controller Charging station USB Type A to C cable Two additional D-Pads 2.4 GHz USB adapter WUCHANG keychain A Mythic Design With Versatile Connectivity and Controls The G7 Pro WUCHANG edition retains the same layout as the regular edition, but you get a custom faceplate and accessories that exhibit the game's artistic vibe. The controller's faceplate shows an ethereal silhouette of Wuchang, and the accents clearly draw its inspiration from fantasy/dragon textures and motifs such as armor, wings, and features. The color scheme shows a mix of dark/metallic tones with contrasting highlights, and the grips are inspired by the dragon-scale armor featured in the Draconic Resurgence costume. It's good to know that GameSir has incorporated layered UV resin textures, and I can clearly feel the difference in touch compared to the regular edition. I mean, the surface on the grips isn't textured like the standard edition, and I can clearly feel the resin patterns on touch. The analog sticks are darker now, and the D-Pad is also painted in Gold. Thankfully, the additional two D-pads also share the same color, and the face buttons utilize golden text as well. The font used is the same as seen on the official Wuchang: Fallen Feathers logo, and offers a much better contrast than the regular edition due to the darker background. On top, we can see that GameSir has switched to fully opaque triggers while the standard edition has the transparent ones. However, they feel the same because of the same texture. The triggers boast both Hall Effect analog and Hair Trigger modes, and one can switch to either by using dedicated switches on the backside. There are two more buttons on the back apart from the ones that are situated near the triggers. The back buttons are lockable to avoid accidental pressed, and at the bottom, you will find a 3.5mm audio jack as well. So, overall, a great layout and adequate amount of controls, which are excellent in feel, as I have talked about in the first review. Then we have the dedicated charging station, which also looks quite attractive with Wuchang: Fallen Feathers written in Chinese. There goes the 2.4GHz USB adapter that helps establish wireless connection with your device, but you will need to keep the charging station connected with the system via the USB cable. Outstanding Performance As I have discussed in the previous review, the G7 Pro is almost flawless in its functionality and has a wonderful mechanical micro-switch D-Pad and optical micro switch ABXY, which offer excellent presses. The faceplate can be changed, and there are three total pieces, including the two on the grips, which expose the interior. You can then change the D-Pad to your favorite one and attach the magnetic pieces back to the body. Coming to the actual performance, the triggers in hair trigger mode don't require any pre-travel and actuate quickly. Latency is also quite low, and as you can see, the average latency in a 2.4 GHz wireless connection was just 2ms, with a polling rate of 500 Hz according to GamePadla, which is satisfactory. The analog sticks are flawless, and these are the GameSir Mag-Res TMR sticks, which have no drift whatsoever. The joysticks make a perfect circle, and there is zero error. The same goes for snapback, and there is literally no snapback on either stick. There is also no tremor, and both sticks are highly stable. There is zero inner deadzone, and the outer deadzone is very small and similar to most budget and mid-range controllers I have tested. Should you buy G7 Pro WUCHANG: Fallen Feathers? G7 Pro WUCHANG: Fallen Features looks gorgeous while retaining the same features, functionality, and performance as the standard G7 Pro edition. I don't have any major complaints on this one, but considering it costs $20 more, it doesn't necessarily offer you more value. Buy it only if you think the custom theme inspired by WUCHANG is worth the additional 20 bucks. Otherwise, get the regular edition, which is available in both white and black colors. As far as rating goes, I rated the standard edition 8.8/10, but the G7 Pro WUCHANG edition gets an additional 0.2 points for its beautiful aesthetics.
