Frankenmuth businesses to unite for Make-A-Wish Michigan at open house

FRANKENMUTH, MI — The annual Bavarian Inn Holiday Open House will return to Frankenmuth on Friday, Nov. 7, with this year’s event focused on supporting Make-A-Wish Michigan through donations and community activities. The all-day event will take place throughout multiple locations in Frankenmuth, including the Bavarian Inn Restaurant’s Castle Shops, Frankenmuth Cheese Haus, Covered Bridge Shop, Frank’s Muth, and select stores at Frankenmuth River Place Shops, organizers said. The Frankenmuth Cluck Truck will also participate. Shoppers can receive a 20% discount card for participating locations by making a cash donation to Make-A-Wish Michigan or by bringing canned food items that will be donated to a local food pantry. The discount card is valid during store hours on the day of the event. “The Frankenmuth community and our family business are always honored to support worthy organizations that are trying to help people in need,” Amy Zehnder Grossi, president of the Bavarian Inn Restaurant, said in a statement. Activities at the Bavarian Inn Restaurant will include festive holiday music, candy making demonstrations, signature product tastings, wine samples, and children’s activities. Hourly prize drawings will be held at the restaurant, and shoppers will receive a free gift with a cumulative $25 purchase at participating locations. The Cluck Truck will be positioned by the Glockenspiel to collect gently used or new winter clothing items including coats, hats, scarves, and gloves for all ages, organizers said. Each clothing donation will come with a free hot cocoa. Participating Castle Shops include the Royal Gift Shop, Souvenirs and Cheers, Chocolate Shop, Candy Corner, Castle Shop Bakery, Doll and Toy Shop, and Wine and Beer Shop. Frankenmuth River Place Shops participants include Emilie B’s, Hello Cats and Dogs, Funky Skunk, Jerky Joint, Enchanted Forest, and Woody’s. Organizers recommended shoppers arrive early on Nov. 7 and begin their day by making donations at any participating location to receive their discount cards.
