Four members of a softball team died of apparent drug overdoses inside a California apartment, according to police. The Fullerton Police Department said they received a 911 call from a man reporting that four of his friends had overdosed and were not breathing around 11am PT on Tuesday. First responders arrived at the building and 'located what appeared to be four deceased adults inside the residence.' A family member told KTLA the deceased included one woman and three men in their late 20s to early 30s, and they were all members of the same adult softball team. 'Our detective bureau is conducting a death investigation, and this investigation is currently ongoing; it's active and ongoing,' Sergeant Ryan O'Neil said. 'It doesn't appear to be any foul play. The community and the general area here is safe.' Footage showed friends and family members sobbing outside the building as they learned the devastating news. The deceased have not yet been identified. Police did not provide any additional details on what kind of drug may be involved or the cause of death. Neighbors told the local news station they were shocked to hear of tragedy. 'Usually downtown Fullerton is a safe environment, with families coming out here for happy hour – that’s the reason why we were out here,' one person said. 'To hear news like this in our community, it's disturbing.' This is a developing story.
