The MLB App is now available for Android XR -- so fans with extended reality headsets now have a brand-new immersive baseball experience at their fingertips. In the extended reality MLB App, you can watch games on MLB.TV just like you would anywhere else. But there are three big new features just for Android XR. As you watch a game on MLB.TV, Gameday3D uses Statcast's tracking data to bring every play to life in real time, rendering a three-dimensional visualization of the game in a virtual version of the ballpark it's being played in. Gameday3D lets fans view plays from perspectives the TV broadcast doesn't show. You can follow the trajectory of every home run, track the location of every pitch on a three-dimensional strike zone, see how all the players are moving around the field and more. That all comes with live data for every play, like pitch type and velocity and batter exit velocity, launch angle and home run distance. And with the XR version of the MLB App, those Gameday3D visualizations of the game happen right before your eyes, at the same time as you're seeing the MLB.TV video stream. You're not limited to just one game. Fans can watch up to five games live at the same time with the multiview feature for MLB.TV within the app. Pick one game as the primary one to watch on a large center screen, and two others surrounding it on either side. You also still get to see real-time tracking data visualizations for the main game you're watching. The MLB App for Android XR features unique spatial video clips, which put the viewer in the center of a play by turning it into an interactive 3D highlight. When you're not watching a live stream of a game, you can see those spatial highlight videos in a carousel on the home screen of the app. And there's a lot more than that on the extended reality MLB App. The extended reality platform brings MLB games to life like never before -- from the real-time 3D visualizations of the action on the field, to the lifelike renderings of every big league stadium environment, to the Statcast data that lets you dig deeper into every play, to the detailed stats available for every player. Fans can also customize their game watching experience with additional camera views, a movable screen of the broadcast and expandable live stats.
