For 10 Years, He Kept Lying To His Wife About The Red Pills. Turns Out, He Was HIV+

A shocking revelation has emerged from Yunnan province in China, devastating a family and raising profound questions about love and trust. A woman from the region, had been giving her husband, red pills for 10 years, believing he suffered from a chronic liver disease. In December 2021, the husband was sentenced to prison for running an illegal casino. During a prison visit, staff requested the wife to arrange HIV (AIDS) medications for her husband, leaving her shocked. It was revealed that he had been diagnosed with HIV in 2011 but had concealed this information from his future wife, keeping the secret for 10 years after their marriage. The couple met in 2011, and even after the husband discovered his HIV status, he chose not to inform his wife. They married soon after. When the husband began taking pills post-marriage, he lied to her, claiming they were for a liver issue. Trusting him completely, she administered the red pills daily for a decade. The wife reflected, “I never thought these pills were for AIDS. He always said they were for his liver, and I trusted him.” The husband defended his actions, explaining in prison that his ongoing treatment kept the virus under control and minimised the risk of transmission. Despite this, she was not comforted by his explanation. She worried that their unprotected life together during the early years of marriage might have infected her too. Following the revelation, the wife immediately underwent an HIV test, which returned negative. However, the mental anguish was overwhelming. She recounted, “During testing, I was terrified thinking about the potential consequences. I spent sleepless nights. We lived together for years without precautions. There was no guarantee that I hadn’t been infected.” To cope with the shock, the wife sought legal recourse against her husband. She filed for annulment of the marriage, accusing him of fraud and betrayal. The Yunnan court ruled in her favour, declaring the marriage annulled. The court emphasised that her husband’s deception not only shattered marital trust but also posed significant health risks.
