Football Legend Tim Tebow Calls Fatherhood a ‘Blessing'

Tim Tebow enjoyed an illustrious career at the University of Florida, becoming one of the greatest college football quarterbacks of all time. He won two national championships and the Heisman trophy before being drafted into the NFL, and now works as a broadcaster, philanthropist and occasional motivational speaker. Tebow married Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters in 2020 after three years of engagement, and they welcomed their first child into the world earlier this year. During a recent interview, Tebow spoke on how fatherhood has affected his life and what he’s learned since the birth of his daughter. Former Quarterback Discusses Parenthood “It is awesome, it is one of the biggest blessings in life,” Tebow said in an interview with TMZ Sports. He said that above all else, he wanted his daughter to know “that she is loved and priceless to God. She would always know that.” When the Tebows’ daughter Daphne was born in July, he expressed a similar sentiment in a social media post announcing the occasion. “We couldn’t be more grateful for the blessings and gift of this new little life,” the former Denver Bronco said at the time. “We’re so grateful to the whole medical team that assisted us in the best way possible…From our doctor to our nurses and all the hospital staff — we are so grateful and thankful for you.” Demi-Leigh Tebow said that the Tebows’ daughter was named after her mother’s aunt, who served as a parental figure to her in her youth. “She was so special to my mom and I,” said the model. “A tiny, kind and strong South African woman who always had shortbread in the house, was the epitome of grit and grace, loved Jesus, had the voice of an angel and made everyone feel seen and special.” Tebow’s NFL career saw him spend time with five teams across two different stints. He began his career as the 25th overall pick of the Denver Broncos, following his legendary stint at Florida. Tebow was one of the most popular players in the NFL, leading the league in jersey sales during his rookie season. His popularity continued into the 2011 season, where he earned the starting quarterback job in Denver. He would lead the Broncos to an improbable upset win over the Pittsburgh Steelers in the first round of that year’s playoffs, immortalizing himself in NFL history with one of the biggest wins of all time. With his NFL career behind him, Tebow will now focus on marriage, fatherhood and the next steps of life. “Just trying to do everything to protect her,” Tebow said – giving a close look at what his biggest goals are going forward.
