The Detroit Pistons are on the road on Friday night as they travel to take on the Brooklyn Nets in an Eastern Conference matchup as part of NBA Cup group play. Detroit enters Friday’s game with a 6-2 record after defeating the Utah Jazz at home on Wednesday night. In Wednesday’s victory over the Jazz, Cade Cunningham led the way for the Pistons as he recorded 31 points and 10 assists while Jalen Duren added 22 points and 22 rebounds of his own. Now Detroit will try to pick up their seventh victory of the season in Friday night’s matchup against a struggling Nets team. On the other side, the Nets enter Friday’s contest with a 1-7 record, though they are coming off their first victory of the season on Wednesday night against the Indiana Pacers. Michael Porter Jr. led the way for the Nets in Wednesday’s victory as he ended the game with 32 points and 11 rebounds while Nic Claxton recorded 18 points, 10 rebounds and six assists. While both teams are seeking a key victory in Friday’s matchup, both squads may be without multiple key players due to injuries. Pistons Injury Report, Will Tobias Harris, Caris LeVert Play? For the Pistons, they enter Friday’s game with four players on their injury report, including veteran forward Tobias Harris. Detroit has ruled out Harris for Friday’s contest due to a right ankle sprain that has caused him to miss their last two games. With Harris sidelined, Isaiah Stewart and Ron Holland II could be in line for larger roles once again against the Nets. The Pistons have also ruled out Jaden Ivey and Marcus Sasser for Friday’s game while Caris LeVert is listed as questionable due to left knee soreness. Nets Injury Report, Will Cam Thomas, Terance Mann Play? On the other side, the Nets also have four players listed on their injury report for Friday’s matchup, including Cam Thomas. Brooklyn has ruled out Thomas for Friday’s game due to left hamstring tightness that caused him to exit Wednesday’s victory over the Pacers. With Thomas sidelined, Tyrese Martin could play a larger role for the Nets while Porter Jr. and Claxton will likely be required to carry the load offensively. The Nets have also ruled out Haywood Highsmith while Drake Powell is listed as questionable due to a right ankle sprain and Terance Mann is listed as probable due to left shoulder soreness.
