Sixth-seeded Wall dug out of a one-goal deficit at halftime to force overtime with third-seeded Rumson-Fair Haven and converted four of its penalty kicks to Rumson’s three to secure an upset victory in the quarterfinal round of the Central Jersey, Group 2 Tournament in Rumson. Wall’s win advances it to the sectional semifinals where it will travel to clash with second-seeded Point Pleasant Boro, winners by a 3-0 margin over seventh-seeded Delran, with the winner punching its ticket to the sectional title game. Wall scored on its four four penalty kicks before failing its fifth, giving Rumson-Fair Haven an opportunity to extend the match that was not converted. Gemma Brett and Megan Farrell accounted for the goal-scoring while Nora Farrell and Grace Holobinko chipped in one assist apiece for Wall (10-8-2). Jordyn Sullivan potted both goals with Maren Kennedy tallying one assist for Rumson-Fair Haven (13-9-1).
