What is the purpose of this project? Billy Petrie, project superintendent for Ghilotti Bros., is credited with overseeing all aspects of this street improvement project, including ensuring all work was done to specifications, regulatory standards, and safety protocols. This one-mile rehab project restored and improved the existing roadway, sidewalks and underground infrastructure. Solar powered flashing beacons have been installed at crosswalks. Forty-one trees were removed, while 44 will be replanted to restore the canopy and feel of the neighborhood. “At the city level, this project contributes to the broader goal of maintaining strong, reliable infrastructure and helps build public trust in ongoing improvement efforts. It’s a great example of how collaboration between city teams and residents can lead to lasting benefits.” The nearly $4.7 million project is slated to be finished at the end of the year.
