ESPN Announces Deal With $13.86 Billion Company Minutes After Penn Entertainment Break Up

ESPN has officially announced a new multi-year partnership with DraftKings, just minutes after parting ways with Penn Entertainment. The deal, effective December 1, 2025, will make DraftKings the exclusive betting partner of ESPN, integrating a betting tab within the ESPN app and providing exclusive odds for its on-air gambling show, ESPN Bet Live. While financial terms remain undisclosed, insiders told The Hollywood Reporter the agreement is more promising than the previous $150 million-per-year Penn deal. The former ESPN Bet app will be rebranded as theScore Bet, while ESPN will continue using the “ESPN Bet” brand for content. ADVERTISEMENT ESPN chairman Jimmy Pitaro said the move “builds on our foundation to super-serve sports fans,” while DraftKings CEO Jason Robins called it a “natural fit” to create a seamless and responsible experience for fans.
