“Education is not merely the acquisition of knowledge but the process of shaping one’s thinking, morality, and outlook on life. It extends beyond the classroom and represents a transformation that cannot be measured by grades or certificates,” said Siddu P. Algur, Vice-Chancellor of the Central University of Kerala on Saturday. He was delivering the 15th convocation address of Nitte (deemed to be university) on the second day of the convocation at the Nitte Off-Campus Centre at Nitte in Udupi district. Mr. Algur said that true education teaches not what to think, but how to think, fostering curiosity and a spirit of inquiry. “In an age dominated by Artificial Intelligence and data, knowledge has become vast and technology has blurred the lines between virtual and real life. Education should not be confined to earning degrees. It is a lifelong journey,” he said. Presiding over the ceremony, M. Shantharam Shetty, Pro-Chancellor (Hospital Management) of Nitte (deemed-to-be-university), said: “Science inspires us to innovate; technology enables us to create. Providing quality education and nurturing good values are the foremost duties of every educational institution.” Gold medal winners from various disciplines were honoured, and degrees were conferred to 646 graduates. Among them were 38 Master of Technology, 178 Master of Computer Applications, and 179 Master of Business Administration students.
