Mysuru, Oct. 25 – As many as 86 candidates from Mysuru Division received appointment letters for various Central Government services during the 17th Rozgar Mela held in city yesterday. Mysuru was among 40 locations across the country where the event was conducted simultaneously. The selected candidates hailed from different districts across the Mysuru Division. Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the recruits virtually, announcing that more than 51,000 youth nationwide had been issued appointment letters. In his address, the Prime Minister said that the recruits were not only entering Government service but also gaining the opportunity to actively contribute to the nation’s growth. Event at AIISH The Mysuru event was organised at the All India Institute of Speech and Hearing (AIISH), where Krishnaraja MLA T.S. Srivatsa handed over the appointment letters to the selected candidates and congratulated them on joining Government service. Addressing the gathering, Karnataka’s Chief Postmaster General K. Prakash highlighted the importance of integrity in public service. “Whatever the position, one must work with honesty. To rise to higher roles, develop the necessary skills and perform duties as a team. Government service is akin to serving God. Citizens seek service, and fulfilling their needs is a noble duty that brings dignity and respect to the role,” he said. Prof. M. Pushpavathi, Director of AIISH, reminded the newly appointed employees that every Government institution runs on taxpayers’ money. “Always act in accordance with laws and regulations. With sincerity and a spirit of service, we can build a humane society,” she said. Symbolic letters presented Symbolic appointment letters were presented to Rajeev Kumar, Anuj Kumar, Mahaveer Singh, Vipin Kumar, Manish and several others who secured jobs in various departments, including Railways, AIISH and the State Bank of India (SBI). Recruitments were made across several Ministries and Departments, including the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Department of Financial Services, Central Public-Sector Enterprises such as Power Grid Corporation of India, ONGC and GAIL, as well as the Ministry of Home Affairs, Ministry of Railways, Department of Posts and Department of Higher Education. The event was attended by Chandrashekar Kakumanu, Postmaster General (South Karnataka) and Shammas Hameed, Additional Divisional Railway Manager, Mysuru, among other officials.
