Viewers of EastEnders are starting to suspect Anthony Trueman is behind Zoe Slater's ongoing torment on the BBC soap. We've seen her act out, claiming someone is targeting her – from revealing VHS tapes to smashed photo frames. Zoe has been hysterical, begging her mum Kat Moon to believe her. But with Anthony telling Kat his concerns about Zoe's mental health, there's questions raised over whether someone really is doing all this to Zoe. Some viewers are starting to believe her ex Anthony is to blame. Anthony showed up in Walford earlier this year after years away. He revealed he was going through troubles with his partner and family, amid an attack on his father Patrick Trueman. The attack and Patrick's wedding to Yolande led to Anthony sticking around. Viewers have been left confused as to why he has yet to return to his home away from Walford, wondering why he doesn't seem keen on fixing things with his wife. He's been away from his children for a while now too. This has left fans contemplating if something is keeping him in Walford, perhaps something linked to Zoe. While some fans still believe he's the father of Zoe's son who was placed up for adoption as a baby, others think Anthony could be targeting his ex. Zoe has claimed Anthony is not the dad and so that mystery rumbles on. But would Anthony really harass Zoe, and why? Taking to X, one viewer said: "Anthony deffo has something to do with scaring Zoe he is toooooo weird ." Another fan commented: "Anthony is defo targeting Zoe, god knows why, making it seem like she’s lost the plot though." A third fan agreed: "If Anthony is the one messing with Zoe then it feels like they've changed/ruined his character." A fourth viewer posted: "They never do things on purpose. Anthony only came back for the wedding but is still here. I’m getting stalker vibes from him." This was echoed by another fan who said: "It's Anthony." The theory kept on being shared, with a fan saying: "I hope they take Anthony's character down the dark and sinister route." A further fan commented: "This is making me so suspicious about Anthony, I mean. Every time something happens with Zoe, he magically appears." Meanwhile, Thursday's episode of the BBC soap sees Zoe's ordeal intensify as yet more instances occur. But not everyone thinks Anthony is behind it. A theory said: "Why do I feel like they might start going down a schizophrenia route with Zoe where she starts hearing voices from the past and continues to imagine things that ain't there? I think Zoe's MH issues are lot more serious then we think. Anthony could be right."
