We all know Eagles general manager Howie Roseman loves to wheel and deal. But time is almost up to make major moves to improve the defending Super Bowl champions. The NFL’s Nov. 4 trade deadline is a week away. The Eagles are 6-2 record and still one of the favorites to lift the Lombardi Trophy. But there are obvious holes on the roster that should be addressed in the coming days. Cornerback is a concern with Kelee Ringo and Adoree’ Jackson struggling through eight games. Even with the return of Brandon Graham, the pass rush isn’t as prolific as it needs to be. And while Dallas Goedert is having a career year, the veteran tight end has an injury history, and the options behind him are suspect. Here are three major moves Roseman should make before next week’s NFL trade deadline. Jets EDGE Jermaine Johnson for 2026 3rd-round pick (from Jets) The Jets are 1-7. That doesn’t mean they’ll deal Johnson; you have to try to build a winning culture at some point. Johnson even told reporters last week that the Jets have informed him that he won’t be dealt. But things change. And the Eagles could offer an enticing pick: the Jets’ third-round pick Philly acquired in the Haason Reddick trade, which is looking like a top-70 selection. Johnson, the 2022 first-round pick and a 2023 Pro Bowler, would be worth it. He missed most of last season with a torn Achilles and has only one sack this season. But there’s past production (7 1/2 sacks in 2023) and a ton of upside here. Johnson is talented and under contract through 2026 with a reasonable $13.4 million salary. Saints CB Alontae Taylor for 2026 3rd-round pick, Kelee Ringo The 1-7 Saints would be wise to offload expiring contracts, and Taylor is in the final year of his rookie deal. Taylor has draft pedigree (2022 second-round pick), experience (44 starts) and inside-outside versatility, making him an immediate upgrade over Ringo and Jackson at CB2. Plus, if the Eagles bring him back on a new deal, Taylor would be another building block in a young, talented secondary. Sending Ringo the other way gives him a fresh start and sweetens the deal for Kellen Moore and the Saints, who might welcome a young CB under contract through 2026. Ravens TE Mark Andrews, 2026 7th-round pick for 2026 5th-round pick At 2-5, are the Ravens giving up hope of making the playoffs? Lamar Jackson will be back soon (we think?), and the Ravens are only a couple games back of the division-leading Steelers with two games vs. Pittsburgh upcoming. But if Baltimore is punting on the season, shedding Andrews’ expiring deal is worth exploring. Andrews, 30, is past his prime. But the three-time Pro Bowler could help a team like the Eagles that wants to use 12 personnel. Going ring chasing as the Eagles’ TE2 makes sense — if Philly can stomach a pricey rental.
