Down Cemetery Road, a new series on AppleTV+, follows the story of Sarah Tucker, a local resident who hires a private detective after a mysterious explosion in her neighbourhood. When a young girl disappears following the blast, she turns to the eccentric Zoë Boehm for answers. The first two episodes were released on 29 October and have already garnered high praise from critics. With an impressive cast and filmed in Bristol, the story was adapted by Morwenna Banks. Sarah is portrayed by Ruth Wilson, a 43 year old English actress recognised for her roles in Jane Eyre and Luther. She won the 2020 BAFTA Cymru Award for Best Actress for her portrayal of Marisa Coulter in His Dark Materials. Interestingly, she is also the granddaughter of novelist and MI6 officer Alexander Wilson. She is in a long-term relationship with an unidentified American writer. Tom Riley, a 44 year old English actor and producer known for his roles in Monroe and Da Vinci's Demons, plays Mark. He is married to American actress Lizzy Caplan. Adam Godley, a 61 year old English actor known for his roles in Love Actually, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and Breaking Bad, plays Joe. He is currently in a relationship with writer Jon Hartmere and they live in California. Sinead Matthews, an English actress known for her roles in Hullraisers and Way to Go, plays Denise.
