Don’t Nod Entertainment, the studio most known for creating the Life Is Strange series, has closed a deal with Netflix to develop a game based on one of the company’s existing IP. Not much is known about the project other than the fact that it’s being described as a narrative game. The news of Don’t Nod’s deal with Netflix comes from the former’s quarterly earnings report. The studio says it’s a “key milestone” for the company, and that this is part of a larger plan to deliver original work while also creating experiences based on external licenses. The game will be based on a “major IP” according to Don’t Nod’s report. With that, speculation is already running wild among fans of the studio. Some of Netflix’s biggest franchises include Stranger Things, and Squid Game, both of which have already received the video game treatment. Don’t Nod of course found its niche in the narrative genre, as 2015’s Life Is Strange catapulted the studio into mainstream status. Don’t Nod has continued on the narrative path with recent games like Lost Records: Bloom and Rage, while simultaneously branching out of the genre with likes of Jusant and Banishers: Ghost of New Eden.
