The team’s ownership is willing to invest in the product on the field to keep the team competitive. The franchise’s method of operation becomes all the more alarming based on team owner Mark Walter’s comments on the team’s goal for next season. “All I have to say to you is, we’ll be back next year,” Walter said during the Dodgers’ World Series celebration at Dodger Stadium. Championship rosters can become outdated over time if they are not consistently updated with promising young talent and free agents being added. The Dodgers organization appears focused on ensuring the team continues to evolve, building on its current core of players while developing the next group in the pipeline. MLB teams are going to have a hard time stopping Walters and Co. from hoisting up another trophy, but things can change quickly in baseball, and investing money into a team does not guarantee results.
