DJ Tizer: Tribute concerts to be held in memory of 'legendary' NI DJ

Two tribute concerts are to be held in memory of a beloved Northern Irish DJ who was a trailblazing figure in the dance music scene. DJ Tizer, whose real name was Tony Walsh, passed away on September 20, 2025, and was known throughout the Northern Irish dance music scene playing at venues across the country and internationally for the past 30 years, and was a popular and widely respected figure. Following his passing many took to social media to pay tribute to DJ Tizer, with him being described as a "technical wizard" and 'happy hardcore legend'. In order to honour his memory and provide support for his two sons, friends of Tony have come together to organise two tribute nights that will feature 20 DJs, including Hixxy, Mickey Modelle and Eddie Wray. Speaking to Belfast Live , one of the organisers and friend of Tony, said they hoped that people would come together for two special nights to honour DJ Tizer and celebrate the joy that he brought to so many people over the years. They said: "DJ Tizer brought so much joy to so many people who used to travel all over the country to see him play. I and so many others had some amazing nights thanks to him and I count myself lucky that he became a very good friend. "We wanted to do something that would really honour his memory and celebrate everything that he has done for dance music in Northern Ireland and have had so many people offering their support in order to pay tribute to him. "The main tribute night will take place at Liquid Nightclub on Friday, December 5, and we are thrilled that one of Tizer's idols, Hixxy, has agreed to headline on the night alongside 19 other DJs which includes Mickey Modelle and Eddie Wray who is coming out of retirement after 25 years. All have offered to give up their time for free with all the money being raised on the night going towards providing some support to Tony's sons in the future. "We also have a free event taking place in his hometown of Banbridge on November 15 in The Detroit which people are also welcome to come and attend. "We just want to have a special night celebrating the life of a DJ who brought so much joy and happiness to people and we are looking forward to a really memorable night."
