Director General of Telangana Police B. Shivadhar Reddy on Monday laid the foundation stone for the City Training Centre (CTC) at Medipally under the Rachakonda Police Commissionerate. He also inaugurated the new Bharosa and Command Control Centre at Saroor Nagar. The DGP said the CTC would enable specialised training programmes for police personnel, particularly in dealing with crimes involving technology. He emphasised that similar training centres were being established across districts to improve preparedness and modern policing standards. Highlighting the growing need for road safety, Mr.Reddy said road accidents must be treated as a serious issue and called on motorists to adopt defensive driving practices. He announced that a large-scale awareness programme titled ‘Arrive, Alive’ will be held in December to promote responsible driving. “It is not enough to worry about accidents after they happen. Everyone, including voluntary organisations, should contribute towards preventing them,” he said. Rachakonda Police Commissioner G.Sudheer Babu, DCPs and other senior officers were present. Addressing the gathering at Medipally, the DGP appreciated Divis Laboratories Limited for extending support under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative to construct the CTC. He also lauded the company’s commitment to assist in building the Young India Police School, sanctioned by the Chief Minister for children of police personnel. The school will allocate half its seats to children of police personnel. The DGP also thanked former legislator M. Sudheer Reddy for his efforts in securing over 50 acres for the new Rachakonda Commissionerate building. Rachakonda Commissioner G. Sudheer Babu expressed gratitude to Divis Laboratories’ managing director D.V. Murali Krishna Prasad for supporting the police through the CSR initiative. Divis vice-president D. Madhubabu and general manager Subbarao assured continued assistance to the department. Rachakonda Cyber Security Council representative Gagandeep, DCPs, additional DCPs and other officers took part in the event. Bharosa Kendras Later in the day, the DGP inaugurated the Bharosa and Women Safety Kendra at Saroor Nagar under the Rachakonda Commissionerate. He said the centres are aimed at ensuring protection and legal counselling for women facing distress. “These Bharosa Kendras will provide comprehensive support and legal guidance to women victims,” the DGP said.
