Working president of Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) K.T. Rama Rao asked the electorate of Jubilee Hills Assembly Constituency going for byelection on November 11 to defeat the ruling Congress badly so that it could implement the six-guarantees and over 420 other promises made to people before the 2023 Assembly elections. Just the sense of defeat had itself made the ruling party to induct a Muslim minority leader into the State Cabinet, making all sorts of promises to cinema workers and releasing dues to the government employees, Mr. Rama Rao said while participating in the roadshow in the constituency, starting from Shaikpet on Friday. “Four-crore people in the State will benefit if the four-lakh electorate of Jubilee Hills make a resolve to defeat the Congress or else Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy will assume that people will support them even if they fail to keep their promises,” he added. Conducting the roadshow in support of party candidate Maganti Sunitha Gopinath, Mr. Rama Rao asked the electorate whether any of them were receiving enhanced social security pension of ₹4,000 per month, monthly financial support of ₹2,500 to women, scooters to girls pursuing college education or 10 gm gold to brides as part of Kalyana Lakshmi/Shaadi Mubarak in addition to ₹1 lakh assistance among many others. Instead, the ruling party had been sending bulldozers to demolish homes of the poor, he said and added that the BRS government had constructed 42 flyovers in the city to ease traffic congestion and enabled investment flows into the State for setting up IT and other industries. Earlier in the day, Mr. Rama Rao welcomed several AIMIM leaders of the constituency into BRS.
