Dallas Pushes to Trade for $106 Million Superstar

The Dallas Cowboys continue to emphasize that the team is open for business ahead of the NFL trade deadline, but fans have heard these words before. Dallas is no stranger to talking a big game before the deadline, but there are reasons to think the team could strike a deal in the coming weeks. After trading Micah Parsons to the Green Bay Packers, the Cowboys have some additional future draft picks the team could use as trade bait. It remains to be seen if the Cowboys will be as aggressive as the team often talks. Former ESPN analyst Trey Wingo reported that the Cowboys are exploring a potential trade for Las Vegas Raiders pass rusher Maxx Crosby. “Breaking: according to sources the @dallascowboys have made inquiries with the @Raiders about a potential trade for Maxx Crosby,” Wingo detailed in an October 21, 2025, message on X. Here’s what you need to know about the latest Cowboys trade rumor. The Cowboys & Raiders Have Talked About a Trade for Star Pass Rusher Maxx Crosby: Report It is worth noting that making “inquiries” about a potential blockbuster trade is a lot different than being on the verge of landing a big fish. For fans holding out hope about this trade potentially happening, look no further than the Raiders’ 2-5 record. Dallas could attempt to offer the Raiders a similar deal to what the Cowboys landed for Parsons. The question is whether the Raiders have an interest in cutting ties with arguably the team’s best player. The Cowboys Could Save Money by Trading for Raiders Star Maxx Crosby Compared to Micah Parsons Crosby is on a much more affordable deal than the contract Parsons signed with the Packers following the trade. The Raiders star is on a three-year, $106 million deal that is slated to run through the 2029 season. Comparatively, Parsons inked a four-year, $186 million contract with Green Bay. Even if the Cowboys give up the same deal the team landed for Parsons, the franchise would be saving money each season compared to the contract Parsons landed. Cowboys Owner Jerry Jones: Dallas Is Open to the Right ‘Opportunity’ to Make a Trade After the Cowboys’ dominant win over the Washington Commanders, owner Jerry Jones discussed the team’s mindset on making potential trades. The Cowboys have until the NFL trade deadline on November 4, to strike a deal. “You don’t just because we played well and all of a sudden everybody thinks, ‘Boy, you’re in the hunt, so it’s time to go out and gather up all of this talent that’s waiting around out here on the trees to add to it.'” Jones told 105.3 The Fan, per Cowboys.com. “That’s not realistic. What’s realistic is that if we do see an opportunity, we are in as good a shape as we’ve been in in years with picks, with financial, with our cap. We’re in as good a shape we’ve ever been if we see a way to improve our team with a player that makes sense today, this year, next year to entertain it and look at it.” As for Crosby, the pass rusher would make a lot of sense in Big D if the Cowboys can keep the Raiders from hanging up the phone. Crosby has made the Pro Bowl in four straight seasons. The star has posted 28 tackles, 10 tackles for loss, nine quarterback hits and four sacks in his first seven starts this season.
