It's safe to say there have been some rather dramatic romances that have unfolded on ITV's Coronation Street , with many spilling beyond the screen as well. Whilst some of these real-life liaisons have burnt out, others have blossomed, leading to weddings and babies. This month, Kit Green actor Jacob Roberts appeared to confirm his fresh romance with a co-worker on the soap, Corrie PR Caitlin Connolly. According to reports, the pair are "besotted" with each other and have been an "item for quite a while". However, Jacob isn't the first celebrity to find love on the legendary cobbles. From Tina O Brien to Will Roache, here we examine some of the relationships to emerge from Weatherfield, reports the Daily Star . Alan Halsall encountered Lucy-Jo Hudson on the Coronation Street set in 2002. Alan is most recognised for portraying Tyrone Dobbs whilst Lucy-Jo played Katy Harris from 2002 to 2005. In 2004, Alan and Lucy-Jo started courting and they married in 2009. In 2013, they welcomed their daughter, Sienna-Rae. Supporters were shocked when the pair announced their split in March 2016, only to reunite shortly afterwards in a bid to rescue their marriage. Regrettably, their attempts proved futile, and they called it quits permanently in 2018. The split rapidly became bitter, with friction between them unfolding in a highly public fashion, as the Mirror reports. Following Lucy-Jo, Alan entered into a romance with his Coronation Street co-star Tisha Merry, though the pair called time on their relationship in early 2024. In 2019, Faye Brookes was reportedly involved in a brief romance with her co-star Sam Robertson (Adam Barlow) whilst on a temporary break from her then-partner Gareth Gates. The fleeting "fling" is understood to have occurred when Faye - who portrayed Kate Connor - took a two-week break from Gates. A source revealed to The Sun at the time: "Sam was a good friend and a shoulder to cry on. Before they realised it, one thing had led to another. But Faye was keen to make things work with Gareth and put a halt to things with Sam going any further." After her separation from Gareth, Faye has since tied the knot with Iwan Lewis, whilst Gareth is now in a relationship with Allana Taylor. Eileen Grimshaw star Sue Cleaver is presently wed to Brian Owen, an ITV lighting technician. However, she was previously married to a fellow Coronation Street performer. Between 1993 and 2003, Sue was wed to actor James Quinn. Soap enthusiasts will know James from his appearances in numerous programmes - including Coronation Street. He has taken on six different characters on the soap since 1989. More recently, he portrayed DS Willets, appearing on-and-off from 2013 to 2021. The police officer featured following the Rovers Return fire in March 2013 and after Pat Phelan's criminal activities were revealed in 2018. Despite their divorce, Sue and James remain on friendly terms and in 2009, the duo appeared together in a theatrical production titled Marriages Made In Heaven. Sarah Platt actress Tina O Brien was romantically linked with Jason Grimshaw actor Ryan Thomas in 2003 and the couple welcomed daughter Scarlett, who has also pursued acting, in 2008. Nevertheless, just twelve months later the duo parted ways after Tina alleged Ryan confessed she "didn't do it for him anymore". According to Tina, Ryan had ended their relationship merely one week prior to Scarlett's first birthday, leaving her "absolutely devastated". "He said he didn't love me anymore. He said I didn't do it for him anymore. Those were his words. He said he didn't want the responsibility of a relationship with me," she revealed to new! magazine. Despite maintaining a co-parenting arrangement for their daughter, Ryan and Tina have experienced several acrimonious public disagreements throughout the years . Tina subsequently discovered romance with Adam Crofts, wedding him in 2018. Nevertheless, their marriage concluded last year. Ryan, meanwhile, is currently in a relationship with TOWIE personality Lucy Mecklenburgh and they welcomed son Roman in 2020 following their engagement in Italy in 2019. Their second child, daughter Lilah Rae, arrived in May 2022. Will has portrayed Ken Barlow on Coronation Street since the inaugural episode aired in 1960. And the actor's romantic life has frequently captured media attention. Will previously admitted to having a fling years earlier with Pat Phoenix - who portrayed fiery Elsie Tanner. He revealed: "It was just a one-off. It was just something that happened one night when we were together. We weren't right for each other. "She invited me round to her flat and we had a few drinks, then one thing led to another. At that time, she had a reputation and I had a reputation, and she felt we should meet, as it were. It just happened." Soap icon Sue Nicholls was wed to Weatherfield baddie Mark Eden for almost three decades until his passing. The star, who portrays Audrey Roberts, encountered Mark beneath a cherry tree at a gathering in 1983. Nevertheless, they grew closer when he joined Corrie in 1986. The Corrie performers exchanged vows in 1993, which was two years following Mark's character's demise beneath a tram in Blackpool. They enjoyed a blissful union until Mark's devastating death on New Year's Day, 2021, having fought Alzheimer's and required hospitalisation the previous year.
