Gov. Kathy Hochul has directed the New York Power Authority to develop and construct a zero-emission advanced nuclear power plant in upstate New York. The governor on Monday directed the New York Power Authority and the Department of Public Service to develop plans for a new nuclear energy plant at an undetermined site in upstate New York. Critics, however, say adding nuclear power is the wrong direction to go.
