Colin Cowherd On A.J. Brown/Jalen Hurts: 'It's Just Never Going To Blend'

Colin Cowherd has watched the Philadelphia Eagles over the past couple of seasons with the quarterback/wide receiver duo of Jalen Hurts and A.J. Brown. While they had a ton of success both with statistics and a Super Bowl championship, it hasn’t been smooth 100 percent of the time. Brown is going to show his emotion, whether he is excited or frustrated. He wears his emotions on a sleeve, while Hurts is emotionless almost 100 percent of the time. Alex Valdes of the Athletic wrote a feature on Brown, where the receiver opened up about what makes him who he is. A few things stood out from that article in Cowherd’s eyes, and he believes it is just never going to work with Brown and Hurts. “This thing is not going to work,”Cowherd said on his show, The Herd. “A.J. Brown’s identity in this article is getting the football. He admits his words that he is a loner, struggles to make friends, his words. Jalen Hurts is a more social animal. It’s oil and water. They’re not adversaries, it’s just never going to blend. Some people are solo artists, and I think A.J. Brown is that.” "It's oil and water. They’re not adversaries, it’s just never gonna blend."@colincowherd discusses the relationship between Eagles WR A.J. Ask any quarterback and receiver duo in the league, would you rather have a perfect relationship or a Super Bowl? Every single time the answer is going to be a Super Bowl. This is the fourth season of these two being teammates. In each of the first three seasons, Brown has had at least 67 catches for 1,079 yards and seven touchdowns. The only reason why those numbers aren’t even higher is because Brown missed four games last year. Jalen Hurts #1 meets with A.J. Brown #11 of the Philadelphia Eagles following an overtime win against the Washington Commanders at Lincoln Financial Field on October 1, 2023 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. There have been rumblings out of Philadelphia on whether or not the Eagles are going to trade Brown. So far, that type of move hasn’t come close to happening. This is still the defending Super Bowl champions, and they are currently 6-2 on the year. They are almost a lock to win the NFC East, as they have a 2.5 game lead on the Cowboys with the head-to-head tiebreaker. The NFC has five to six teams that appear to be capable of making a run in the conference, but the Eagles have as good of shot as any to get back to the Super Bowl. Cowherd may be right that the two may never have the perfect relationship that we see from other top quarterback and receiver duos. However, as long as they are competing for Super Bowls
