Standing out as their 11th consecutive commendation, the city’s financial report was scrutinized by an impartial panel and deemed to embody the program's elevated standards; this encompassed upholding a "spirit of full disclosure", aimed at not just bringing financial transactions to light but also engaging stakeholders and the public at large inviting them to delve deeper into the fiscal narrative of Clarksville, as stated by the City of Clarksville's notice. The consistent attainment of such a prestigious accolade points to an underlying culture of meticulous stewardship and transparency within the city’s fiscal management team, and Mayor Joe Pitts avowed his exuberance about the department's streak, “I am exceedingly proud of our Finance and Revenue Department for this achievement,” he affirmed in a statement proudly heralding the work of Clarksville CFO Christen Wilcox and her team for responsibly handling taxpayer revenue and reinforcing city services, according to the City of Clarksville press release.
