Fixer Upper stars Chip and Joanna Gaines are adding a special new team member to their crew: Their eldest daughter. The couple shared the first trailer for their new series, Fixer Upper: Colorado Mountain House, in which they announced the exciting news, via social media on October 28. “This is our first out of Central Texas project,” Joanna, 47. I want it to feel like something that I put together for my family.” She added, “Chip had an idea to have our daughter design the little cottage.” Ella, the couple’s 19-year-old daughter, said, “I’m accepting the challenge.” The series — which premieres December 9 on Magnolia Network — will see the Texas-based couple branch out to the mountains of Colorado to “turn this 1960s home in the heart of the Rockies into a cozy family retreat.” This is not the first time Ella has shown an interest in the family business, however. In September 2016, Joanna shared a photo of the now-teen helping mom stage a house on their original HGTV series, Fixer Upper. “Sweet Ella got to try her hand at decorating tonight- so proud of her!” she captioned a still shared via Instagram, adding the hashtag “family business.” Ella, the eldest daughter, experienced a major life transition earlier this summer when she left the family farm in Waco and headed off to college. “Our little girl, all grown up. #headedtocollege,” the Magnolia owner wrote in an emotional Instagram post in August. In addition to Ella, the Gaineses share sons Drake, Duke and Crew, and daughter Emmie.
