EXCLUSIVE: One Battle After Another breakout Chase Infiniti, Christopher Briney (The Summer I Turned Pretty), Gillian Anderson (Sex Education) and Jason Isaacs (The White Lotus) have commenced production in London on The Julia Set, a coming-of-age drama from writer-director Niki Byrne. In the film, Infiniti plays Julia, a talented mathematician operating within a fiercely competitive academic environment. Briney plays Pascal, the T.A. who conscripts her into an elite prep course for the most challenging math competition in the world, the Putnam Exam. Jeffrey Penman is producing alongside The Gotham Group’s Ellen Goldsmith-Vein (Springsteen: Deliver Me from Nowhere, Juror #2) and Lee Stollman (The Maze Runner, Stargirl), as well as Anderson, Nick Scherma, Tayler Haynes, Andrey Epifanov and Eleonora Granata-Jenkinson. The film is being produced with the support of the If/Then initiative, which advances culture change by highlighting positive role models in the areas of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (or STEM). Nicole G. Small and Margaret Black are exec producing for If/Then, alongside Cecily Colahan, Infiniti, Gabriel Jenkinson, Lauren Beveridge, Art Williams and David Fensterstock, with HanWay Films on board to handle worldwide sales. Coming off a star-making turn opposite Leonardo DiCaprio and Teyana Taylor in Paul Thomas Anderson’s One Battle After Another, which has suddenly made her one of the most closely watched young talents in town, Infiniti previously starred opposite Jake Gyllenhaal in the first season of Apple TV+’s Presumed Innocent, which was a big hit for the streamer, leading to a Season 2 renewal. Upcoming, she’ll also be seen starring in The Testaments, Hulu’s follow-up to The Handmaid’s Tale. She is represented by Brillstein Entertainment Partners and Gersh. Best known for starring in Prime Video’s The Summer I Turned Pretty, Briney has also been seen in the recent reboot of Mean Girls, among other films. He is repped by Industry Entertainment, CESD Talent Agency and Peikoff Mahan Law Office. Upcoming, Anderson will be seen in Channel 4’s Trespasses, based on the novel by Louise Kennedy, as well as Netflix’s Western series The Abandons and Ben Affleck’s Animals. Also on her slate is Teenage Sex and Death at Camp Miasma for Plan B and Mubi, where she’ll star opposite Hannah Einbinder. She is repped by UTA and Independent Talent Group. Recently earning an Emmy nomination for his work in The White Lotus Season 3, Isaacs just wrapped Victorian Psycho with Maika Monroe, based on the bestselling novel by Virginia Feito, and is currently filming the indie hostage thriller Eleven Days, alongside Diego Luna and Taylor Kitsch. Upcoming, he’ll also be seen in the psychological horror film Honey Bunch. He is repped by Strand Entertainment, Gersh and Independent Talent Group. Previously helming the indie drama Evan Wood, which premiered at the Santa Barbara Film Festival, as well as the documentary The Open Book Tattoo on tattoo artist Konstantin Noskos, Byrne is represented by Hirsch Wallerstein Hayum. The Gotham Group is repped by attorney George Davis.
