Cechini Helps Loyola Secure Invitational Title Bermudian swimmer Thomas Cechini delivered a key individual and relay performance for Loyola University Maryland as the men’s team claimed the Thomas Murphy Invitational title at the Mangione Aquatic Center. Cechini’s top individual finish came in the Men’s 200 Yard Freestyle A – Final, where he secured a strong fourth-place finish by touching the wall in 1:41.34. This final time was a marginal increase from his preliminary effort of 1:40.37, which had qualified him fourth for the evening event. In the Men’s 500 Yard Freestyle A – Final, the Bermuda swimmer placed sixth overall with a time of 4:35.41. He completed his individual events in the Men’s 200 Yard Butterfly A – Final, finishing ninth overall after recording a time of 1:52.96. Cechini also proved an essential component of Loyola’s relay success, swimming critical legs in two major races. In the Men’s 800 Yard Freestyle Relay A, Cechini helped the Greyhounds’ A team secure a fourth-place finish with an overall time of 6:45.77. In the Men’s 200 Yard Freestyle Relay A, he again swam the third leg for the squad that finished seventh overall, recording a combined time of 1:24.53.
