Over the last few years, trade rumors have lightly surrounded Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray. Murray, who was the No. 1 overall pick by the Cardinals back in the 2019 NFL Draft, has had an up-and-down career thus far. He has dealt with quite a few injury issues, but has also had streaky play when he has been on the field. There is no denying the star potential that Murray has always possessed. However, there are questions about whether or not he will ever be able to realize that potential. No, there isn’t speculation that Arizona could trade him before this year’s deadline. Instead, an NFL insider has suggested that he could be a potential offseason trade candidate. Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk weighed in on the situation. He believes that it could even be “likely” that Murray gets moved during the 2026 NFL offseason. “That said, an offseason trade is very realistic. If not likely,” Florio wrote. “The current regime did not draft him. The current regime did not sign him to a second contract. The current regime has yet to be able to pick its own quarterback. And with the current regime staring at three years of not making it to the postseason, one way to successful finagle a fourth season will be to lobby ownership for the ability to draft, to sign, or to trade for a new starter.” Throughout the course of the 2025 NFL season, Murray has been able to play in five games. He has completed 68.3 percent of his pass attempts for 962 yards, six touchdowns, and three interceptions. In addition, he has picked up 173 yards and a touchdown on the ground. Perhaps a change of scenery would help him reach the heights that many expected from him. There are some teams around the NFL who would likely have interest in acquiring him should he hit the trade market.
