Cardinals Get Unfortunate Marvin Harrison Jr News Ahead of 49ers Game

Sitting at 3-6 on the season, the Arizona Cardinals head into their Week 11 game against the San Francisco 49ers in desperate need of a win to stay in the NFC playoff picture. Unfortunately, that task got far more difficult on Wednesday when news broke that star wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. is set to miss Sunday’s must-win matchup. After a 2-0 start to the year, the Cardinals have completely fallen apart, dropping six of their last seven games. Things have gotten so bad that questions now surround the future of the quarterback position in Arizona. Jacoby Brissett will be tasked with leading the Cardinals on Sunday. However, he will do so without Harrison after the second-year wideout underwent an unforeseen surgery on Wednesday that could affect his availability past Week 11. Schefter also didn’t rule out the possibility of the surgery forcing Harrison Jr. to miss more than one game. Cardinals WR Marvin Harrison Jr. underwent surgery for appendicitis and is out for at least this week and possibly longer.— Adam Schefter (@AdamSchefter) November 12, 2025 More news: Aaron Rodgers Gets Strong Endorsement From Mike Tomlin After Steelers Loss This news is obviously worrisome for the Cardinals, given how Harrison had just started to get into a rhythm with Jacoby Brissett over the past few games. Each of the last two weeks, Harrison Jr. has hauled in a touchdown pass from Brissett, with his best game of the year coming in a Week 9 upset win over the Dallas Cowboys. With a loss on Sunday, the Cardinals would essentially be entirely out of the race in the NFC West, given how well the Seattle Seahawks and Los Angeles Rams have been playing this season. So Arizona will certainly need the likes of star tight end Trey McBride, third-year wide receiver Michael Wilson, and Greg Dortch to step up in light of the absence of Harrison.
