Cardamom estate worker killed in tree fall in Idukki

A 40-year-old cardamom plantation worker was killed when a tree fell on her while she was working on a private cardamom plantation at Peyhotty near Santhanpara in Idukki on Tuesday. The deceased has been identified as Sunitha, a resident of Tankmedu near Santhanpara. According to the police, the incident took place around 11.30 a.m. While she was engaged in work in the cardamom plantation, a tree fell on her during strong wind. Other workers narrowly escaped. Though she was rushed to General Hospital at Bodinayakannur in Tamil Nadu, she was pronounced brought dead. The body was shifted for post-mortem examination. Sunitha was survived by her husband, Subash, and children, Surya and Subhiksha.
