Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese have become the faces of a new generation in women’s basketball, their rivalry fueling both fan debate and league growth. The two entered the WNBA in 2024 as part of one of the most anticipated draft classes in league history. Clark, taken No. 1 overall by the Indiana Fever, averaged 19.2 points and a league-best 8.4 assists in her rookie season to earn Rookie of the Year honors. Reese, drafted No. 7 by the Chicago Sky, arrived as a national champion after leading the LSU Tigers past Clark’s Iowa Hawkeyes team in the 2023 NCAA championship game. Their careers have been intertwined ever since; competitive, headline-grabbing, and emblematic of the WNBA’s rising cultural influence. Now established stars on their respective teams, both Clark and Reese are preparing for their third season as pros. While their rivalry on the court has been well pronounced, especially by fans of both players, it appears Juwanna Mann star Miguel A. Nunez Jr. sees beyond competition. Nunez revealed in a recent interview that a sequel to the 2002 basketball comedy is in the works. “Yeah, we’re doing a part two,” Nunez said. Asked about the stars that could make an appearance in the movie, the 66-year-old actor said he hopes to see both Clark and Reese in cameo roles. “Caitlin Clark… I love her and Angel Reese,” Nunez added. Released in 2002, Juwanna Mann told the story of a disgraced NBA player who disguises himself as a woman to continue playing basketball. The proposed sequel would reportedly update that concept to today’s sports culture, potentially exploring themes around women’s visibility and media attention. Still, the project remains in early discussion stages, with no official production details or commitments from Clark or Reese. Whether the cameos materialize or not, it will be interesting to see both Clark and Reese take on acting roles for the same movie.
