First responders reportedly took Gumbel, 77, from his Manhattan apartment on a gurney around 9 p.m. before he was transported to emergency medical facilities via ambulance. He remains in hospital care as of Tuesday. The legendary broadcaster has dealt with serious medical issues in the past, previously contending with lung cancer in 2009.
