The Cleveland Browns are coming off an imposing win against the Miami Dolphins, despite Miami being one of the worst teams in the NFL. Ultimately, the Browns had to come out and take care of business, as they're struggling, too, and did just that. It was an impressive win from top to bottom, but rookie quarterback Dillon Gabriel didn't exactly do much. On the season, Gabriel certainly hasn't warranted being a guaranteed starter moving forward, throwing for 546 yards and three touchdowns. He's appeared in five games, but has started in two. In his three starts, he has just two touchdown passes. The Browns' quarterback situation is one of the more intriguing in the NFL, given the dilemma with Shedeur Sanders. Some believe that Sanders deserves an opportunity to start in the NFL, while the Browns and other teams around the league clearly didn't think that when he fell to the fifth round. However, according to the latest update from Tony Rizzo of ESPN Cleveland, he was informed that Sanders will have the opportunity to start the last four games of the 2025-26 campaign, regardless of where things stand. “I need to see Shedeur when they are going to give him a chance,” Rizzo said. “And, by that, I mean they have to tell him he’s starting on Monday. It’s not going to happen anytime soon, I get it. But you have the Patriots and then the bye week. I was told by two different sources yesterday at the stadium, one said Shedeur will start the last four games of the season, no matter what. “Unless the Browns win every game through the Titans week, Shedeur will play the Bears, Bills, Steelers, and Bengals; they want to see what he’s got. Another said he could be in play earlier than that.” More news: Browns Facing Backlash After Latest Shedeur Sanders Decision Sanders is now the QB2 on the Browns depth chart, after starting the season as the third string behind Gabriel and former starter Joe Flacco.
