A call for volunteers has been issued for the Northwest Suburbs Cable Communications Commission (NWSCCC), which plays a pivotal role in dealing with cable franchise agreements. This group lays the groundwork for negotiations, finalizes deals, and oversees adherence to the terms in an effort to maintain a vibrant media environment for the northwest suburbs. The commission seeks individuals who are ready to dedicate themselves to the community, with no prerequisites of prior experience. Any qualified voter residing in Brooklyn Park is invited to step forward. Interviews are slated to take place on November 24, 2025, as part of the City Council meeting, according to the city's announcement. Serving on the commission requires a minimal time investment—roughly one to two hours per quarter—making it an accessible avenue for civic engagement. The one-year term—free of term limits—allows for a dynamic and evolving assembly of perspectives. Meetings are held quarterly, providing commission members an opportunity to meet and confer on the third Thursday of designated months, including February, May, September, and November, at the convenient morning slot of 7:30 to 9:00 a.m. at CCX Studio.
