Bradley “Brad” Joe Rogers

Bradley Joe Rogers, 67, of Lake Charles passed away suddenly in the comfort of his home on Monday, Nov. 3, 2025. Brad was born on Dec. 4, 1957 in Lafayette and resided where his career took him before settling in Lake Charles. A proud graduate of the University of Kansas “KU”, Brad earned his degree in Political Science and English and was just shy of completing his degree in Economics. He also attended Louisiana State University, where his love of learning and intellectual curiosity first took root. Throughout his long and loyal career in internal auditing, Brad worked for numerous companies, earning the respect and friendship of colleagues who admired his dedication and integrity. Beyond his professional life, Brad cultivated a deep love for simple joys. An avid gardener, he took great pride in his yard; so much so that he was honored with the “Yard of the Month” award from his neighborhood garden club. He was also an enthusiastic reader and loved reciting poetry to his wife, Mitzi Hubbard. He and Mitzi also shared a passion for fitness, spending time together at the gym and encouraging one another in health and happiness. Known for his easygoing nature and quirky sense of humor, Brad had a way of making those around him feel at ease and appreciated. Sundays were especially meaningful to him, spent gathered around the table with family for meals at the family home affectionately known as “Alvin Street Café.” His faith was an important part of his life as well; he was a member of Christus St. Patrick Catholic Chapel, where he occasionally served as a gift bearer during Mass. Those left to cherish his memory are, Mitzi, who was the love of his life, and her son, Jeff Hubbard (Amanda); their daughter, Isabella, who he cherished as his granddaughter; Mitzi’s family, Al and Jerry Moore, Rick Ewalt (Laura), Lori Ewalt, Russell Ewalt (Juanita), Karen Simons (Rene), Terri Broussard, and Lance Moore (Debra); and a close family friend, Father Brian King. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ronald and Margaret Rogers. A celebration of life will be held in the home of Brad and Mitzi on Brad’s birthday, Thursday, Dec. 4, 2025 from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. Cremation was entrusted by Johnson Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you plant something in Brad’s honor to represent his love for gardening and plants. Words of comfort to the family may be expressed at www.johnsonfuneral home.net.
