Toronto Blue Jays star Ernie Clement gave Shohei Ohtani some notable praise after the Japanese sensation once again made magic on the baseball field. Ohtani hit two home runs during Game 3 of the World Series, both of which were solo shots. His first one came in the bottom of the third inning, when he grew the Dodgers’ lead from 1-0 to 2-0. LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA – OCTOBER 27: Shohei Ohtani #17 of the Los Angeles Dodgers celebrates on the field after the Dodgers defeated the Toronto Blue Jays in game three of the 2025 World Series at Dodger Stadium on October 27, 2025 in Los Angeles, California. After the game, Clement made a bold proclamation about Ohtani, calling him the best player of all time. “You can’t explain it. He’s the best player to ever play this game,” the Toronto player said regarding Ohtani, per Bob Nightengale of USA Today. After Ohtani’s seventh-inning homer, the Blue Jays proceeded to walk him intentionally. Ohtani did not get another at-bat, and Dodgers manager Dave Roberts did not blame Jays manager John Schneider over his decision. “I get it,” Roberts said. “He’s the best player on the planet, he was on the heels of a huge offensive night and John smelled that. He wasn’t going to let Shohei beat him at all, obviously, and even when nobody was on base, [he was] putting him on to make the other guys beat him.” The Dodgers are up 2-1 on the Blue Jays with two more home games left. They can end the series in five games and not return to Canada. To do so, they will have to win Games 4 and 5 on Tuesday and Wednesday, respectively.
