Alongside it, he wrote, "Sometimes, we see bubbles.Sometimes, there is something to do about it. His warning comes as AI-fueled euphoria has sent major tech stocks soaring. Nvidia, for instance, has surged over 1,200% since the start of 2023, reaching a record $5 trillion market value and helping push the S&P 500 and Nasdaq 100 to new highs, as per the report.Michael Burry's New Identity On X: “Cassandra Unchained”Adding to the intrigue, Burry changed his profile name to “Cassandra Unchained”, a nod to the Greek mythological prophetess doomed to make true predictions that no one believes. He famously predicted and profited from the US housing collapse, a bet later chronicled in The Big Short, as per the report. Over the years, he’s repeatedly warned of market excesses, from meme stocks and cryptocurrencies to tech giants, even calling the “greatest speculative bubble of all time in all things” back in 2021, reported Business Insider.That same year, Tesla CEO Elon Musk dismissed Burry’s constant warnings, calling him a “broken clock.” But in early 2023, Burry once again rattled investors with a one-word post, “Sell.” Soon after, he stopped posting altogether.However, Burry’s stance appeared to shift earlier this year. According to filings, his hedge fund replaced bearish bets on several stocks with bullish call options, signaling a more optimistic view of the market, as per the report.
