Benjamin Sesko injury update emerges amid nervous Man Utd wait

Manchester United striker Benjamin Sesko has had his first medical check on the knee knock he sustained during Saturday's stalemate with Tottenham , according to Slovenian media reports. The £73.7 million summer acquisition was introduced for United in the 58th minute at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, but endured just thirty minutes on the pitch after a challenge from Micky van de Ven. Sesko made his way straight down the tunnel following treatment , with United manager Ruben Amorim confessing his worries over the situation. When quizzed if it could be a serious problem, he responded: "I have no idea. Because it's the knee, we never know. "I'm concerned with the injury because it's in the knee. We need Ben to be a better team. We have to check everything, we have to check what has happened with Ben." Following the draw in the capital, Slovenian outlets have suggested the initial indications are promising, reports the Manchester Evening News . Sportklub have revealed that the forward has completed his first medical assessment on his knee discomfort and it has delivered an 'encouraging' result. The report indicates that early signs are favourable, though an MRI scan is arranged to follow for a more detailed analysis. United have been connected with a fresh centre-forward in recent weeks, with Joshua Zirkzee struggling to earn opportunities under Amorim. Amorim was pressed on whether United's transfer strategy would be affected by a potential spell on the sidelines for Sesko. "Of course, we are going to have a problem there [with AFCON], but we already knew," he responded. "Then you can prepare that in the summer, but then you have a lot of players in the summer who are not going to play because it's one game per week. So the management of that situation is going to be hard. "But let's see when the window is open, if we can improve the team and try to prepare something that happened. Until then, we have to take the chance." Harry Maguire also appeared to sustain a hamstring injury after being forced off in the second-half . The England international was seen struggling after an hour, with TNT Sports commentary noticing him struggling with the issue. "When we have to take out Maguire and Casemiro at the same time, then suffer two goals, then losing Ben, you have to overcome everything," Amorim said.
