Bengaluru's Metro Purple Line, stretching across Challaghatta to Whitefield, faced delays for nearly 40 minutes on Thursday (October 30), creating chaos and panic among passengers. This comes after a train reportedly came to a halt near Atiguppe station for around half an hour. Multiple passengers took to X, complaining that the train heading towards Whitefield (Kadugodi) abruptly stopped after "the track ahead was not clear." Later, it was moved to Vijayanagar, where all passengers were asked to deboard with no clear communication, the passengers claimed. One of the users posted a video of the crowd on X, writing, "With no proper updates or announcements, there is utter chaos. Bangalore Metro's Purple Line." On this, one of the users commented, saying that he was also stranded at Hosahalli station for more than an hour. Another user posted, "Technical snag causes almost 40-minute delay on Bangalore Metro's Purple Line." People were tagging Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL), asking them why there is a delay on the purple line. "OfficialBMRCL, why is there a delay on the purple line near Vijayanagar now? Metro is stranded between Attiguppe and Vijayanagar station. Also, all trains are running delayed. Can you pls clarify," one user wrote. Another user wrote, "Train is now halted midway between Cubbon Park and MG Road. Such a slow, bad day!! @OfficialBMRCL. This is pathetic at it's peak." "This has also led to a cascading effect, resulting in the regulation of train services on the Green Line," it added. However, the train services on the Purple Line have been normalised at 10:15 am, and the services will be restored around 11 am.
