A popular British fashion retailer has made a return to Aberdeen . It comes just months after it originally closed its doors earlier this year. Superdry & Co has made a comeback to the Granite City with the reopening of its newly revamped store in the city's Bon Accord Centre, taking over a unit that once housed the Disney Store and The Aberdeen Science Centre pop-up. The relocation comes after the high street staple permanently shuttered its Union Square branch that was located next to Boots in February, which has since been overtaken by the city's first ever Victoria's Secret. The Bon Accord centre Superdry branch, which opened today, Friday, November 7, is a 6,000 sq ft unit that boasts the British clothing brand's newly revamped store format, marking the second in the UK to do so. Following on from its Nottingham opening in September, the retailer's new concept is said to offer shoppers a refreshed, design-led concept focused on product storytelling and community relevance. The new format will provide Aberdonian shoppers with the chance to once again browse the latest men’s and women’s collections, as well as a curated vintage offering that blends new-season products with heritage-inspired pieces. Warm, tactile materials and elevated visual merchandising are two features of the store that will put the spotlight on key seasonal stories across outerwear, denim, knitwear, shirting and jersey essentials. Also bringing back the Store Manager of the previous Union Square branch, shoppers will also find convenient shopping services, such as Click & Collect and easy in-store returns. Initially founded as Superdry Limited in 2003, the firm rebranded to Superdry & Co in 2025 and is now said to operate a total of 75 stores across the UK, with seven being based in Scotland. The relocation to the Bon Accord Centre marks just one of the latest retailers to open in the shopping centre that has been going through a few changes, with FatFace also relocating from Union Square in April. It also marks an important moment in Superdry & Co's turnaround plan, as its recent FY25 Results announcement highlighted a swing back to profit before tax of £33.8million, up from a loss of £48.3million in the prior year. Superdry founder and CEO Julian Dunkerton said of the new Aberdeen opening: "Aberdeen has always been an important location for us. "Opening today with our new Superdry & Co format, we’re creating a space that puts craftsmanship front and centre - from premium outerwear and preppy styles to our sustainable Vintage edit. I encourage new and existing customers alike to come and visit us with a fresh eye, and to rediscover the exciting next chapter for our brand." Superdry & Co's return to Aberdeen is just the latest addition to a round-up of exciting new openings across Scotland recently, with many high street retailers opening in new locations, with some making their debut in the country. This week saw global sensation EL&N London, also known as 'Eat, Live and Nourish', open its first ever Scottish branch in the H Beauty by Harrods store located in the Silverburn shopping centre. The café and lifestyle brand, which is famed for its unique aesthetics and fashion-led menus, was once named "the most Instagrammable café in the world" , with locations in iconic hotspots such as Milan, Paris and Dubai.
