Belarus is ready to do everything necessary to ensure India's successful presidency of BRICS 2026 and has invited PM Narendra Modi to Minsk, Belarusian President Aleksander Lukashenko said as he met with Ambassador of India to Belarus Ashok Kumar in Minsk on Tuesday.“We are ready to work with you under your presidency in BRICS and are prepared to do everything necessary to ensure your chairmanship is a success. We are grateful to you for the assistance and support you provided us with during our accession to the SCO, as well as for the partnership within BRICS. We gladly rely on your help and support. And you have never refused us this help and support,” Lukashenko said.“I believe there is a potential for boosting trade with India,” Lukashenko hoped.It may be recalled that Lukashenko met Modi in Beijing on the sidelines of the SCO Summit on August 31.India and Belarus have a Joint Commission on Military Technical Cooperation. India's participation in the Zapad 2025 war games, which also involved Belarus, highlighted this area of collaboration.
